Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Sparta Recreation High School Basketball Program.
Our program includes grades 9-12.
If you have any friends who would like to play please have them stop by the Recreation
Office to register.Right now, the fee is $50. Anyone who signs up the day of the
draft will owe $70.

Captains Wanted!!!!:
We have a lot of teams who had a senior captain last year that needs to be replaced.
If you are a returning player (sophomore or junior) and would like to be captain of a team,
please let us know when you register on the 10th.
Please show up at 1 pm.
All Captains must stay after the tryout and draft all new players.
New Players: The season begins on Saturday, January 10th. at Sparta Middle School
On this day we will be holding a screening process, so brush up on your skills and drills.
All new players have to register; you will receive a number and partake in some pickup games.
The team captains will be evaluating all new players in order to have a basketball draft following the tryout.
All players will be assigned to a team. If you are a new player and do not make the tryout you will be
put on the Wavier wire and assigned by the league directors.
(Wavier Wire players may miss up to 2 games before being assigned to a team so please try to make the tryout.)
Returning Players: If you played on a team last year, you are still assigned to that team,
but you may come on January 10th, at 1pm, play some pick up games
and help your captain by getting to know the new players.
All returning players have to register before they can play.

Free Agent Draft------------------------------------------------------------
All new upperclassmen to the league will enter a free agent draft.
Top tier teams (Glazers, Stallions, Illuminati, Gremio, Basketballs) get to pick first.
The order will be determined randomly.
Top tier teams can only pick a free agent if their team still has a spot available after the new player draft.
